Students will be dismissed at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 24, 2017 for the start of Spring Break. Classes will resume at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, April 3, 2017.
PARCC testing will take place in April for all students in grades 3 through 8. The Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) assessment system is an annual year-end test in English language arts/literacy, and mathematics. Visit the PARCC website for more information.
Our 6th grade students are heading to Springfield, Illinois! This class trip is part of their social studies curriculum, and the itinerary will include visits to New Salem Village, Lincoln Home Visitor Center, Lincoln's Tomb, Illinois World War II Veterans Memorial, Illinois Korean Memorial, Illinois Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and a tour of the Illinois State Capitol.
The Rosemont School concert band, fifth grade band, and choir gave an outstanding performance at the March Benefit Club meeting. The next time they will perform will be during the Art Fair and Ice Cream Social on May 4, 2017. Benefit Club Officers are busy at work planning upcoming fundraisers and the Family Fun Night scheduled for April 21, 2017 from 6pm to 9pm at The Dome in Rosemont.

Random acts of kindness are being spread throughout our school and community by our first grade students and their teachers during the month of March. Every day a positive thought or activity is planned such as leave a friendly post-it note in a library book, compliment someone, write a letter to a soldier, make a card for a child in the hospital, and much more. The kindergarten classes will be guests at the April 24, 2017 Rosemont Voters League Meeting at the Senior Center. They will be reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and singing the Star Spangled Banner and the Rosemont School Song. Hope you can join us for this special kindergarten performance!
