2016-2017 STUDENT/PARENT HANDBOOK

Parents, in accordance with Illinois State Law, several changes and additions have been made to our Student/Parent Handbook.  It's important for all parents and students to become familiar with school policies and procedures. Sports/Cheerleading Tryouts for the 2016-17 School Year

New State Requirements

Any student wanting to tryout for sports, including cheerleading, during the 2016-17 school year, must conform to the new Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) requirements and submit the two required forms prior to the first day of school on August 16, 2016.   Click here for a copy of the parent notification letter  that was sent home with report cards with every incoming 5th through 8th grade student. . . .

Open House & Benefit Club Meeting

September 7, 2016 @ 7:00pm

We hope to see all parents and students at our Open House. The evening will begin in the gym with a presentation from Principal Anderson, followed by our Benefit Club meeting. At the conclusion of these meetings, you will have an opportunity to visit the classrooms and meet your child’s teachers. There will also be a Book Fair and 8th Grade Bake Sale taking place in the Phyllis J. Anderson lunchroom. Benefit Club parent volunteers . . .

Please Support Our Parent Group & Join Benefit Club!

We hope everyone will support our parent group, Benefit Club. Dues are $5 per family. Benefit Club meetings are held five times during the school year in the Phyllis J. Anderson lunchroom. Please get involved, attend the meetings, and support the fundraising activities held throughout the school year.  Some of the fundraising programs planned for this year include Yankee Candle, Heart and Home, Box Tops for Education, 5K Glow . . .

1st Quarter Box Tops Contest

Over the past two years Rosemont School has earned close to $2,000.00 from the Box Tops for Education program, with profits of $788.20 during the 2014-15 school year, and $1,108.70 last year.  That translates into close to 20,000 Box Tops submitted by students!  This is a very simple no cost fundraiser for all families to support. You will find the Box Tops logo on hundreds of products.  Just clip the .10 cent coupon . . .

Yankee Candle Fundraiser

Please support this Benefit Club fundraiser!

Orders for our Yankee Candle Fundraiser are being taken through September 2nd.  Please submit all orders and payments by the deadline.  Our school earns 40% on every item sold. Benefit Club Officers are hoping to receive at lease one order from every child in school.  There is a variety of items to choose from including candles, wrapping paper, magazines, and popcorn. L.A.F.F. Night

September 14, 2016 @ 6:30pm

Literacy Activities for Families (L.A.F.F.) is a family oriented program that meets 4 times during the school year. This program encourages family reading time along with a wide variety of arts, crafts and computer activities. Families with children in grades PK - 5 have the opportunity to sign up. Information will be sent home with your child in advance of each program.

Keep Calm and Glow On

5K Run/Walk Fundraiser

Join us on Friday, October 14th for an untimed 5k run/walk fundraiser through the streets of Rosemont Village, starting and ending at the school.  Check-in starts at 5:30pm, the run/walk starts at 6:30pm, and there is a post party from 7:30pm to 9:00pm in the gym.  Registration is $20 per participant (or $15 to register without receiving a shirt).   Click on these links for the Informational Flyer , the Registration . . .
