Dear Parents,

Through the Illinois State Board of Education, parents have an opportunity to share their thoughts on the important elements of school effectiveness in a survey about Rosemont School District 78. This annual statewide Illinois 5Essentials survey is designed to generate a detailed picture of the inner workings of your child’s school. This year’s parent survey is open now through March 29, 2024.

If at least 20 percent of our parents complete this survey, a parent supplement report will be generated. The school administration values parent feedback and has a desire to view the supplement report. Last year, we had less than 20% of parents respond; therefore, the school administration could not view the parent feedback. Your participation in the parent portion of the survey will help us understand the conditions at school and guide improvement. Your identity and survey responses will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to you or your child.

The Illinois 5Essentials Survey will be administered online by 6UChicago Impact at the University of Chicago. The survey gathers data related to five indicators that can predict important student outcomes, including improved attendance and larger test score gains. These five indicators that affect and predict school success are effective leaders, collaborative teachers, involved families, supportive environments, and ambitious instruction.

All students in 4th through 8th grade will also be taking the survey. If you have a child in 4-8th grade, please see the attached Student Survey Notification letter.

To take the survey please visit the 5Essentials Parent link. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.

Sincerely,

Peter Schaul

Principal
